Using simple and linear language, the poet Irma Kurti offers us once again a babel of sensations through her stream of consciousness, a sort of diary in verse that opens the doors of reflection to intimate and existential themes.
Irma Kurti reaches directly to the heart of the reader, destroying as always, the idea that poetry is an instrument for a select few, because narrative forms full of flourishes and literary artifices do not belong at all to its stylistic features. Emotion itself speaks through memory, images, and thoughts, described in such a manner as to allow the reader to tiptoe into the author’s life, without taking off their shoes. Poetry then becomes an art form capable of stopping time and memory, like a snapshot of words that each reader can enrich with infinite universes of meaning.

Irma Kurti has won numerous literary prizes and awards in Italy and Italian Switzerland. She has published 26 books in Albanian, 20 in Italian, 10 in English and two in French. She has written about 150 lyrics for adults and children. She is also the translator of 13 books of different authors and of all her books in Italian and English.
Her books have been published in the United States, Canada, France, Italy, Romania, Turkey, Kosovo, the Philippines, Cameroon and India. She lives in Bergamo, Italy.
