Cairo hosts the VI Open Eurasian Literary Festival LIFFT-2023

The opening ceremony of the Open Eurasian Literary Festival of Festivals ‘LiFFt-2023’ and the International Film Festival “Art Unites” was held at the Russian House. Among the winners of the festival are representatives of South Korea, India, Colombia, China, Germany, Uruguay, Netherlands, Mali, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Spain and Syria.


On Sunday, January 29, the registration of participants in the Sixth Eurasian Literary Festival LIFT-2023 was held in Cairo, at the Russian House, (127 Tahrir St., Dokki).



After that, the there was an opening of the exhibition “The Book of the Poet and the Artist” Silk Road to Happiness (Crimea, Moscow, Sochi, Tyumen, Baku, Ufa, Istanbul, Cairo), which is a series of drawings by artists and poets over the years of the festival across these cities. And let the official opening ceremony of the Sixth Eurasian Literary Festival of Festivals “LiFFt-2023” and the International Film Festival “Art Unites” begin with the hosts of the ceremony: prof. Sulimov, A.; Lazukina. The program began with greeting the president of the festival, officials and distinguished guests, whether present or online, and then handing over the festival flag (from Turkey - to Egypt).



On Wednesday, (February 1), at the Cairo International Book Fair, the closing day of the festival began with the first conference of the initiative group and the founders of the World Book Societies Organization “Wow”.


The festival's anthem was performed by the People's Artist of the Republic of Tatarstan, Eduard Treskin, with greetings from the festival participants (attendees and via the Internet), then the awarding of the "Patron of World Literature" medal, and a musical conclusion.



The festival activities consisted of many interesting literery and cultural events.

Participants had the opportunity to visit touristic and historical attractions, as well as plastic arts, specifically the Palace of Arts in the Opera House, to open up to contemporary Egyptian art. A visit to the Library of Alexandria was also scheduled after the end of the festival.

Dr. Wale Okediran is Secretary General of the Pan African Writers Association (PAWA), Ghana. Novelist, originally from Nigeria.



Among the winners of the festival are representatives of South Korea, India, Colombia, China, Germany, Uruguay, Netherlands, Mali, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Spain and Syria.


The four parts of the first volume of the videobook contain works by more than a hundred authors. They will be shown to the public soon. All festival participants who sent their works to the Istanbul and Cairo festivals will receive certificates of participation in the festival.
